About Me
Thierry Aumer, Clinical Psychologist
I’m Thierry Aumer, a clinical psychologist from Luxembourg, offering psychological counselling and sport psychology services online. I believe therapy is not only for moments of crisis. It can also be a meaningful space to pause, explore your inner world, and reconnect with yourself. In therapy, you can strengthen your resilience, work through challenges, and develop the tools to navigate life with greater clarity and balance.
I provide individual counselling for adolescents and adults facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, stress, emotional difficulties, low self-worth, and challenging life transitions. My role is to offer structured, evidence-based guidance within a supportive environment that honours your pace, respects your autonomy, and values your lived experience.

My Approach
Evidence-based client focused therapy
Choosing a therapist
A personal choice
My role as your therapist, is to offer a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard and understood. In our work together, we will explore your experiences with openness and care, helping to bring clarity to your thoughts, emotions, and patterns.
I will gently guide you toward the changes you seek, always respecting your pace and unique needs. Each session is adapted to your goals, providing both structure and flexibility as we work to build resilience, expand perspective, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
Over time, therapy can support not only relief from current struggles, but also deeper self-understanding, lasting growth, and move you closer to a life that feels authentic and fulfilling to you.
Empowering Personal Growth
Supporting Life Transitions
My approach focuses on empowering personal growth and supporting individuals through life transitions.
I believe in a client-centered therapy approach, where the individual's needs and goals are at the forefront.
I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where you can explore your inner world, build emotional resilience, and navigate changes with confidence and clarity.
Clinical Approach
Evidence-based Therapy
In my clinical practice I follow an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs.
Drawing on evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I provide a safe, supportive space to work through challenges. I focus on building a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and respect, guided by scientific integrity and clinical ethics.
Together, we explore difficult experiences, strengthen coping skills, and foster psychological flexibility, insight, and overall well-being.
Professional Background
My professional background combines clinical psychology, psychotherapy training, and applied research across diverse settings. I have provided therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in community and outpatient contexts, supporting individuals with complex psychopathology, emotional difficulties, and relational challenges. My work includes individual therapy, family consultation, and group psychoeducation, always grounded in evidence-based approaches such as CBT and ACT.
Alongside clinical practice, I have contributed to performance psychology research at the University of Lausanne, focusing on stress and trauma in athletes, and gained organisational experience providing workplace psychological consultations with an emphasis on stress, burnout, and suicide prevention.
